Happy Valentines Day!

Well Happy late Valentines Day to everyone!  We had a fun one at our house.

We got Ellie some new outfits and teething toys and cute socks.  She loved em!  I got Clint a basket with some goodies and little things that are "Good for the Heart" and he got me a rice cooker!  I've been wanting one for a while!

That night we stayed in and made a nice dinner together, and then tomorrow we are finally going on a date to have a nice dinner.  It should be fun!  Hope you all had a great one!

Red Velvet Cupcakes!

So for Valentines Day I wanted to make a red dessert, and Red Velvet Cupcakes sounded like they would hit the spot!  They were a hit.  So tasty and oh so delicious!

My dad just got engaged, and his fiance, Nancy, and her two kids came over a couple days after to enjoy them with us.  It was fun to let UJ (Uncle John) and AN (Aunt Natalie) hold Ellie.  She loves kids of any age, and they love her too.  And it was fun to get to know them a little better.  Thanks for the fun evening!

Desperate Times call for Desperate Measures

So Ellie was sick last week, and had been for about 4 weeks.  We took her to the doctor and she had a cold on top of a cold and it was close to turning into a sinus infection.  We just felt so bad for her because she was so stuffy she couldn't breathe or sleep and would cough all the time.  Poor girl.

So what better to do when you're sick than sleep on Mom and Dad's bed?  It's the comfiest spot in the house, isn't it?  At least she was able to catch a few zzz's there!

And I tried to catch her 'turkey eye.'  That's when she likes to pretend she's sleeping, but still likes to peek at you with one little eye.  Of course, being the 'turkey' that she is, though, she closed it as soon as I got down in her face with the camera!  Silly girl!

Cute Crib

We FINALLY got our storage unit put together and our stuff put outside so that Ellie could finally have her own room.  We got the crib and changing table put up, we have a rocking chair and a dresser, and a Pink Fluffy Lamp!  It's one that Clint's mom bought the day we found out we were having a girl.  It was so funny.  But here's Ellie sleeping in her own room!  She's getting so big!  Or is it Mom and Dad that are growing up?

Is This Natural???

So Ellie has a bunch of stuffed animals that she plays with while she's laying on our bed.  One day we had to leave in a hurry so we left the animals on the bed without putting them away.  When we came home, this is what we found . . .

Do all dogs poop out little sheep?

The Circle of Life

Well as we mentioned, Clint's Dad's Uncle Willie died last week, and then his mom's Aunt died this last Monday, so we have her funeral coming up on Saturday.  It's been kind of sad to go to all these funerals, but we have some excitement to counter it!  Baby blessings!

Clint's cousin Sarah blessed her baby Liam 2 weeks ago, and then my Aunt and Uncle blessed their baby Truman this last Sunday.  We had fun going and seeing these little boys be blessed and to visit with the family.  Atleast when some people die we have these cute little babies to take their place!  It's the great Circle of Life!

And then on to little Truman's blessing

Uncle Dan, Uncle Dean, Dad Dave, and Grandpa Jay.
All the Offret boys back together!
Uncle Dan just moved back to Utah from Maine
so it was neat to have them all together.
Welcome back!

Willie

Many people are probably not aware that I have a family member who has Downs Syndrome. His name is Willie and he is my Grandma Petersen's brother (which makes him my great uncle). He passed away this week at the age of 62. The last couple of years he has been the oldest person with down syndrome in Utah.  He also worked at the Deseret Industries in Logan for 25 years. He has lived with my grandma for around 15 years now. He has become a huge part of our family and has blessed us all with his loving nature. Willie loved everyone and he had a special place in his heart for babies and children. Unfortunately, due to his health, Ellie was not ever able to meet Willie while he was alive. He has been in a rest home for the last little while. We are so proud of him and we really look forward to getting to know him after this life now that he no longer has the physical limitations from his condition. We have so many fond memories of Willie that we will always cherish.

This is a picture of me and Willie the day that I came home from my mission in 2005

Weber State Basketball

I grew up a big fan of Weber State Basketball and Football. For many years we had season tickets to both sports and we never missed a game. We had so much fun! We have been able to start that tradition with Ellie except we don't go to every game (maybe someday we will have time to). Ellie got to attend her first Weber State Basketball game on Feb 2. It was fun to watch her because she absolutely loved it. She loved everyone cheering and clapping. She had a great time.

The Jazz Bear came too! He does some pretty wild tricks.
