Baby Hairstyles

While we were at the Mall lastnight we walked past this couple who also had a baby, and the lady was going crazy waving at Ellie.  She asked how old Ellie was and we told her 5 months.  I asked how old her baby was and she told us she was 4 months.  She was a pretty cute baby, too!  As we were leaving the lady said "I like this hair thing" and played with her hair like she was fixing a mohawk.

So it got me thinking - How am I supposed to do Ellie's hair to make her look like a girl?  A mohawk is pretty much the only thing we can do right now!  Babies just don't have enough hair to differentiate between boys and girls really.  Especially when you're at the Doctor who has never seen her before and only see's her in a diaper and calls her a him. . .  Oh no!  So I decided to have a little fun after bathtime.  We have to find the right hairstyle, people! :)

And the winner is . . . the mohawk!  I just can't seem to part with it yet!  And it looks especially girly with the cute flowers and bows!  Somebody was definitely a genious!

Pride and Prejudice Day

I love the movie Pride and Prejudice.  It is one of my favorites.  Not to be outdone by Miss Congeniality, BUT, I do love a good Pride and Prejudice day.

This just happens to be one of those days!  When it's gloomy and rainy or, in this case, snowy, I love to cuddle up in a warm blanket and watch this movie.  It is so relaxing to me.  Oh I love it!

This is the view from our room.
You can't really tell it's snowing, but it is!

Many more faces of Ellie

So this last Wednesday while I was getting ready for work I had Ellie in the bathroom with me.  She was just LOVING her bouncy chair and her little butterflies.  I took some pictures of her and she gave me the funniest faces!  I had to share.

Ellie Belly Time

We've had a hard time getting Ellie to like 'Tummy Time.'  She just fusses the whole time she's on her belly because she can't do anything once she's there.  We have tried to teach her to lay her head down on its side, but she just doesn't want to!  We try to roll her onto her back and she just rolls right back over on to her belly!  The little stinker! :)

BUT, on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr.Day, she enjoyed her tummy time!  I couldn't believe it, so I thought I better take a picture to prove it to Daddy!  I just gave her my phone and she had a good 'ol time!  What a funny girl.

See her glazed little eyes?  That's the day she got her pink eye.  No fun!

Ah, Mornings

My guilty pleasure?  Sleeping in.  I don't know why, but to me, NOT waking up to an alarm is so great.  What's greater than that?  Waking up to my cute husband next to me.  Next best thing?  Waking up to a smiling, beautiful little face staring back at me from her cradle.  Everything is calm and quiet and it's so peaceful.  Sometimes I feel like life can't get better than that.

I stayed home from work today because I have Pink Eye.  Ellie got a cold last week and got Pink Eye at the beginning of the week.  I started getting the cold at the beginning of the week and now I have the pink eye!  I call it my evil eye, and if people want to mess with me I tell them that it will jump out at them and get 'em!  At least Clint thinks it's pretty funny!  But I got to spend the whole day with Ellie.  So much fun.  I love those days.

Ellie has this funny thing about us kissing her hands.  We think it's because she thinks she's a Princess.  Cute Princess Ellie.

See my pink eye?  Not too bad today.
You should have seen it yesterday!

Hit The Spot

I was going through our pictures and I found a few pictures of this funny game that my Grandma has.  We went to her house to have dinner with her and my Dad a few weeks ago and we played this game afterwards.  It's pretty ancient, but super fun and SUPER HARD to play!  There are two metal poles and you put a metal ball on them.  You try to pull them apart without letting the ball fall until it gets to the right 'spot.'  Hence, Hit The Spot!  Gravity makes it a pretty tricky game though!

Ellie's First Cousin!!!

Last night Tausha and Dave announced that they are expecting a baby!! We were all so excited. It is really funny because the due date is August 23 which is only two days off of the August 25 due date that we had for Ellie. It is also cool that they found out they were expecting on the two year anniversary of Dave's mom passing away. We are really excited that Ellie is going to have a little cousin to play with now. Congratulations Tausha and Dave!!!!

Fallen Officer in Ogden

As many of you heard, there was an Ogden Officer that was killed last week while serving a Search Warrant.  The funeral was on Wednesday and they had a huge procession that went from the Dee Events Center in Ogden down Harrison onto 30th, then onto Washington until 12th Street and then to the Cemetery.  Clint and I are big on supporting our Law Enforcement and Firemen and all of those people that risk their lives for us and we are so grateful for all of the work they do.

We really wanted to go watch the Funeral Procession but we both had to work that day.  I didn't know, though, that the procession was going to be on Washington Boulevard and that it was going to go right past my work.  Lucky for me, my managers told us all to get outside and watch it because we were 'working,' and we all wanted to see it anyways!  So I was very lucky to get to watch the whole thing.

It was really neat the way that they honored Officer Francom.  They had Motorcycle Cops leading the procession followed by a Firetruck that carried his casket.  Then there were about 500 police cars from EVERYWHERE following.  It was so amazing to see all of them at one time.  It's not something you get to see everyday.

I didn't have our camera on me, so I tried to do the best that I could with my phone.  Some of the pictures are a little skewed from sending them to the computer, but it's still neat to see all these people supporting ALL of our men and women that serve us everyday.
